Swelling Of The Ear Flap

Swelling Of The Ear Flap

The dog or cat has a liquid-filled lump on the ear flap. There are many things that can cause swelling of the ear flap in pets; however, the most common causes are hematomas. Hematomas develop when blood vessels within the ear flap rupture. Other reasons that dogs and cats may experience swelling of the ear flap include ear mites, inner or outer ear infections, fly bites, bee stings, flea allergy and injuries to the ear.

Pet Insurance

When adding a dog or cat to your family you want to make sure your pet is happy, healthy and protected. During its lifetime your pet is exposed to many illnesses and diseases and some breeds are affected by a congenital disease which is a condition existing at birth. At these moments when your pet is ill or maybe needs surgery, you want to be protected for the unexpected and high veterinarian costs.
