Discolored Gums

Discolored Gums

Teeth and gums have another color than usual, when a pet has discolored gums it is often caused by the blood flow being blocked. This discoloration on your pet's gums could be a symptom of a dental disease or condition. Healthy gums have a salmon pink color, but may turn darker by a lack of blood, which can be caused by a trauma or infection. It is advised to consult a dental specialist or a veterinarian to determine the cause.

Pet Insurance

When adding a dog or cat to your family you want to make sure your pet is happy, healthy and protected. During its lifetime your pet is exposed to many illnesses and diseases and some breeds are affected by a congenital disease which is a condition existing at birth. At these moments when your pet is ill or maybe needs surgery, you want to be protected for the unexpected and high veterinarian costs.
