Pughasa Build Information

The pughasa is a small, mixed breed dog, a cross between the Lhasa apso and the pug. They weigh between 12 and 20 pounds and a have 12-14 year life expectancy. They are a fairly active breed, requiring exercise on a regular basis. Their fur can either be a long or a short single coat. They come in a variety of colors, but most commonly, apricot and fawn. Pughasa dogs are best socialized from puppyhood in order to deter shyness later on.

They are friendly and lively and very comfortable playing with children. They boast good watchdog abilities and are a fairly intelligent breed. To avoid any stubbornness or aggressiveness in this breed, early training is crucial. They respond well to consistent commands and a rewards system.
