The Polish hunting dog is a purebred member of the hound group. This scenthound is also known as the gonczy. Polish hunting dogs have smooth coats of black with tan markings, and they require very little grooming. The Polish hunting dog is considered to be of medium stature, averaging 48 to 57 pounds in weight and 20 to 23 inches tall at the shoulder. Polish hunting dogs have long tails and earflaps that hang downward.
