Behaviour and Personality
They are gentle giants that make for very loving, affectionate, and loyal family dogs. Irish Danes can also be great playmates for children and are not aggressive towards strangers or noisy. Their eagerness to please makes them easy training, especially with a food reward system. They should, however, not be trained to do any jumping as they large size makes them vulnerable to joint problems. Being quite large, they are not suitable for apartments and must have plenty of space for exercise and running around.
