Behaviour and Personality
Gerberian Shepsky dogs have many desirable qualities, being highly intelligent, loyal, and social dogs. Loving towards their owners, they can be great family pets, but should be socialized early on. Their wariness of strangers make them good candidates for guard dog duties. Training can be made difficult by their independent nature, but their intelligence allow them to easily pick up commands from patient and gentle training. These dogs are large, energetic, and need lots of space to run as well as daily walks.
