Chipits are known to be playful and energetic, making them good dogs for homes with small children. They are also unlikely to bark at strangers, making them poor watchdogs but friendly pets. They can be trained, but results will come slowly compared to some other dog breeds. Chipits are prone to skin allergies and asthma, but are otherwise healthy.
