When two specific breeds are purposely crossed with the goal of creating a new breed that exhibits a combination of the best qualities of both parent breeds while reducing the risk for some of the health problems associated with the two parent breeds, the result is called a hybrid or designer breed. In the case of the beagle mix, one parent must be a beagle. Many of the hybrids have been created in the United States, but the beagle originated in England. Once used by hunters to track hare and deer, the beagle has become one of the most consistently popular dog breeds in America’s pet-owning households. The beagle is a member of the American Kennel Club’s non-sporting group of dogs.
A Beagle mix may have physical features, such as size and coat length, of the breed they are bred from, as well as the Beagle.
Personality
A Beagle Mix may take the characteristics of one dog parent or the other, both, or possibly something entirely different. A Beagle and Labrador mix is a gentle, affectionate, medium-sized dog, and gets along very well with kids. The Doxel (Beagle and Dachshund) is very playful and full of energy, but can be stubborn and has a strong hunting instinct. Another Beagle mix that tends to follow its hunting instinct is the Beagle – Terrier mix.

Clean the dog’s ears weekly if they appear dirty. The teeth should be brushed at least three times a week to prevent periodontal disease and maintain good overall health.
