The Dunker is originally developed in the beginning of the 19th century by crossing a Russian Harlequin Hound with other Scenthound breeds and is named after the Norwegian Wilhelm Dunker.

The Dunker is medium sized and resembles other Scenthounds. Though, this dog breed’s dappled coat coloration is remarkable and unique.
