The traits vary from dog to dog, as the parent breeds are quite different their fur either being short or long, may be soft or course, but usually coming in a combination of brown, tan, red-brown, or golden colorations.

Border Beagles are prone to shyness around strangers, but will be quite affectionate and loving with owners. They have lots of energy and need to spend a good deal of time exercising, though they can handle apartment dwelling if provided proper exercise.
